  2. Spring CERT Class

May 15, 2018, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Butler College - Fire Science Emergency Service Training Center (Fire Station 2)

There have been many events over the past year that have drawn attention to the role that citizens play in their communities during the first hours after a disaster or other major emergency. As emergency responders and government resources are stretched and overwhelmed, neighbors repeatedly step up to help neighbors in need. As you have watched these stories play out, have you wondered how you could get better prepared to help your friends, family and neighbors (and beyond) in a disaster? If so, consider participating in a CERT Class! This spring, Butler County Emergency Management is once again offering the free 20-hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Class. Through a combination of classroom presentations, hands-on activities and a final disaster scenario, this course equips citizens to “bridge the gap” between a community’s needs and available help.
